Summary
Taking place early in the 20th century, this fiction story tells of Wilma, who was raised by a "Negro Mammie." She loves her adopted family, but Wilma enounters problems with white society "who didn't like having a young girl in close friendships with Negroes, even to the point of threatening the life of her best friend and Mammie's son, Cletus Lee."
