Summary
His name was George W. Lang, but he preferred just using his initials, and that's how most everyone knew him - as G. W. Lang. On any cattle drive, he was the buyer, the trail boss, and as much of a cattle drover or cowboy as any of his men. Always a man of vision, he accomplished what many others said couldn't be done - like trailing cattle across the Arizona and California desert to Los Angeles. And then in his late sixties when other men were retired, he was tempted with another seemingly impossible challenge - trailing cattle to the goldfields in the Klondike in 1898. This is the story of his life on the trail.
