Summary
Headstrong fourteen-year-old Mattie Ross hires Rooster Cogburn, a one-eyed, trigger-happy U.S. Marshal with a propensity for drink, to help her capture Tom Chaney, the hired hand who killed her father for two pieces of gold. They are joined on their trek into the Indian Nations by Texas Range LaBoeuf, who wants Chaney for his own purposes.
